Well, everyone, I guess its time to break the news to you.

 

Virtual Chinchillas is no longer as we know it........

 

I know what you're all thinking......

 

And I guess I'll be the one to tell you that what you're thinking.....

 

IS SO WRONG! Virtual Chinchillas has been 100% REDONE, is BIGGER, BETTER, and more exciting then EVER BEFORE!!!!!!

 

So, in preparation for the new site moving onto our server, and get all our members information to the "temporary server", I am asking for the co-operation of all our members! Things will go so much smoother if we can all pitch in!

 

1. Please utilize the free vcash OSB offer, and retire any common chins that you no longer want or need. We have to MANUALLY move EVERY chinchilla and its information (points, name, gender, brand, etc) to the new database. With 30,000 pets on the site, we're looking to streamline the process. So PLEASE, get rid of unwanted pets!

2. Please get rid of unwanted / NON RARE items. Throw them away on the old site. Feed the food to your pets. I will NOT be moving COMMON ITEMS to the new site, that you can just buy in the regular store. We have over 2 million items on the site, so it will be only collectables and rares to transfer.

3. Please come register on the new site - using the SAME USERNAME that you have on the old site. This will make the transition that much easier. Remember this address is TEMPORARY, until we move to the permanant address that we have now. The "dummy" site address is www.dchins.info

4. You will have access to both accounts for the time being. When you have cut back your herd please message myself (jmrothermel), Jan (chinniesrus), Sassy, or Cocochin22 on the NEW SITE, and please ask us to start moving your herd over. Once your account has been moved over your old account will be frozen and inaccessable on the old site. Many members have already started registering, so you will find your friends over here!

5. Read the help files for questions about the new site. Check it out, look around, click things. Not everything is 100% working yet, I am still integrating old site features with the new site features, but am working diligently on it all the time. If you have any questions please post in the help forum! Please use the site and let us know if you have any concerns!

5. Last but not least, have FUN with it! There is SO many new things to explore, new chins to adopt, a new way to hunt for hatchlings, play some slots and the daily lottery, just to much to list. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it, and welcome to the new Virtual Chinchillas!

P.S. - If your account was previously frozen on Virtual Chinchillas, because of the complete AWESOMENESS (theres no other way to put it LOL) of the new site, we have decided to allow everyone to register at the new site, with a clean slate. Please, make sure to follow the rules of Virtual Chinchillas this time around, because should your account be frozen again, you will be BANNED from the site, yet again. None of your old account information will transfer over, but you will be allowed to re-register at the site.
